The Build

"Let's build a bed in the back of the van..." Sure, why not, that can't be too hard. 

I had intended to make videos of the building process; however, most of it was completed by Justin without me. 

We removed all the seats, including the third row that was spring-loaded and intended to fold into a well. That way, we have that space available for extra storage. 

Our bed frame is slightly unique- it is 2 pieces. The first part of the frame is shaped like a backwards "L". 

This allows us to remove the smaller piece, behind the driver's seat and place one of the rear captain's chairs back into the van when we need to carry a third person. 

Next, we used a 3/4" piece of plywood for the flat surface of the bed. I helped with this part! 

Finally, we will put a blanket down to cover the plywood so it doesn't touch our air mattress.
