Vive le Quebec
Welcome back! After our great night in Mactaquac Provincial Park, outside of Fredericton NB, it was time to head for Quebec City. It's a little embarrassing to admit, but up until this trip, I'd only been to Quebec City once... in winter, at night. However, we knew that this wasn't going to be a lengthy stay. Why you ask? Because when you've been on the road for 3 weeks, with a dog, living in a van and you're within a days drive of home, you're basically ready to just get home. Also, Quebec City on a hot summer day with a dog is not overly enjoyable, but we made the best of it.
There's so much to see and just look at when walking these streets. Having Tesla with us meant we were limited to where we could go, so we took turns popping into a shop or two to get some essentials (local beer and more stickers). It was a beautiful day for a stroll through this beautiful city. It also happened to be Busker Fest... so the crowds were out and about. Justin was still able to take some great photos.

It was short, but of course a sweet visit to this amazing city. It may even be on our list to visit again this summer, as we plan shorter trips closer to home.
Given that it was so late in the evening, we made our way towards Montreal but didn't quite make it. How fitting for our last night that we'd sleep at a rest stop on the side of the highway (not our favourite).
Reflecting on this trip, it was obviously different from our trip out West. Everything was much closer together, which in some cases allowed us more time to explore. However, travelling with a dog in the middle of the summer presented it's own challenges as well. Would we do it again, of course. Are we more likely to either upgrade to a trailer or plan shorter trips with kayaks and hammocks? Definitely! Do we recommend van camping for others? Absolutely!
Finally, I will circle back and share about our wedding to finish off this series of posts about our East Coast adventure. As always, thanks again for sticking around and sharing this adventure with us.
See you soon,
S & J
